Professor Brad Kendall is a Gastroenterologist with a special interest in Barrett’s oesophagus.
About
Professor Brad Kendall is a senior gastroenterologist at the Princess Alexandra Hospital and a Professor at The University of Queensland. He also consults privately at Queensland Gastroenterology, where he provides comprehensive care across the full spectrum of gastrointestinal conditions.
Professor Kendall has a particular interest in diseases of the oesophagus, including Barrett’s oesophagus and oesophageal adenocarcinoma. He completed a PhD in cancer epidemiology, and his research has focused on understanding risk factors for Barrett’s oesophagus and improving strategies for early detection and prevention of oesophageal cancer. He has been involved in numerous national and international research collaborations and has published widely in leading peer-reviewed journals.
In addition to his clinical and research roles, Professor Kendall contributes to guideline development and is a member of the Gastroenterological Society of Australia guideline group on Barrett’s oesophagus. He is committed to translating evidence-based research into practical clinical care, with a focus on improving outcomes for patients with reflux-related disorders and early neoplasia.
Professor Kendall offers a wide range of diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures, including gastroscopy and colonoscopy. He works closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure patients receive coordinated, high-quality care tailored to their individual needs.
He is actively involved in teaching and mentoring medical students, trainees, and junior doctors, and is committed to maintaining the highest standards of clinical practice.
