Dr Shwan Karim is a Gastroenterologist and Interventional Endoscopist offering timely, evidence-based care for a broad range of gastrointestinal conditions, with particular expertise in advanced and therapeutic endoscopy.
He completed his medical degree at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland and specialist gastroenterology training in New Zealand, followed by advanced interventional endoscopy fellowships at Princess Alexandra Hospital (Brisbane) and Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust (London).
Dr Karim is committed to providing high-quality care in general gastroenterology, including conditions such as GORD, coeliac disease, IBS, Barrett’s oesophagus, and bowel cancer screening, alongside comprehensive diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy.
He has advanced expertise in interventional upper and lower endoscopy, including the endoscopic management of Barrett’s oesophagus with dysplasia, early gastrointestinal malignancy, large or complex colonic polyps, and pancreatico-biliary disease, including ERCP and endoscopic ultrasound (EUS).
